Armor

The roman auxilary wore chain mail much like the cavalrys there helmets and shields were also similar. The only difference between the cavalry and auxiliary was there weapons ad go course that one was on foot while the other was on horseback. The auxiliary carried long spear or hasta used for throwing or hand to hand contact. They also carried a sharp dagger on their belt. The auxiliary was mostly made up solders from free provincial lands (like the cavalry). ( call up Jake Auxiliary and Kelvin legion )

Archers The roman archers wore the same armor as the auxiliary. They used two types of arrows the normal arrows and then smaller darts that could go twice the distance of the normal ones(Levantia). The darts were used to break up the oppositions formation and spread confusion because they were very hard to see. The archers in the Roman army were mostly mercenaries from Crete.

Slingers This is a picture of a Roman slinger. The Roman slinger were mostly mercenaries from the Balearic Islands. The Romans often made molds called galndes instead of rocks that they sometimes wrote insults on them (Roman Funditor). Slingers were used because they could fire much farther than a bow and arrow can. The slingers wore no armor exepet for a small sheild. Besisdes a sling they were also armed with a small dagger.
